Upper-Buffalo!

Sunday we floated the Upper Buffalo River. We floated from the Ponca Low-Water Bridge to Kyle’s Landing. The distance was 11.3 miles; the water was about 3.75 feet (17 inches of air space at the Ponca Low Water Bridge) and cool. The trip took 5 hours and 56 minutes. We spent 3 hours and 8 minutes paddling; the rest was spent messing around on the river and hiking to Hemmed-In-Hollow, “The Tallest Waterfall in Mid-America”. The waterfall was flowing pretty well. Our average speed was 1.9 MPH with sunny skies and temperatures in the high 80s. Eight people and four canoes made the trip. Zac and Melissa, Eric and Delia, Emilie and Abby, Frere and Tate.
