BIg Sugar!

Sunday we floated the Big Sugar Creek in Southwest Missouri. We floated from the Creekside Campground at Bentonville Hollow (creek) and the Hwy E Bridge to Camp Tilden at the Cyclone Low Water Bridge. The distance was 8.17 miles; the water was just less than four feet, cool and clear. The trip took 5 hours and 26 minutes. We spent 2 hours and 57 minutes paddling; the rest was spent messing around on the river. Our average speed 1.5 MPH under partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to high 80s. The water was cold because it is spring fed. 11 people five canoes and one kayak made the trip. The fishermen caught about 20 bass and I soloed my boat.
